About Us Studs Broods Racers Youngstock Jumpers Staff Sales/Leases
Here will be a listing of all horses available for private sale and lease.
Concerning Lease Horses: Are typically breeding animals available on a season to season basis. To get your name in for a season simple send me a note with the mare's name and the stallion you wish to breed her too. If a stud is available for off the farm lease (as in I am leasing him out to your stud barn for a longer time frame) please send me a note so we can discuss how to manage that.
Broods Available
Circe
Foundation: Cozzene x Mythical Girl
14 yo Thoroughbred Mare
3 time GI Winner over 8-10f on Dirt
Offspring: Cassiphone, by Birchwood owned by *Geronimo24
Oakenshield by Birchwood owned by *Geronimo24
Mating Recommendations: Circe is a well made, good sized mare whom errs a bit on the more delicate side of things. We recommend breeding her to similarly sized studs with good bone density whom have proven themselves over 8-10f. In terms of pedigree she seems to outcross well with Seattle Slew sons as proven by the relative attractiveness and talent of her most recent progeny. We also feel that studs descending from Northern Dancer and Princequello could produce high cailber foals as well. Another option to consider would be to play with the bottom half of her pedigree and opting for a stud whose own bottom half is littered with classic broodmare sires such as Secretariat and blue hens, such as Courtly Dee. In terms of personality Circe appears to throw foals that are sensible and easy to work with, therefore sires with less then savory personalities might do well with her.

Doubleornothing
Foundation: Affirmed x Twosome
11 yo Thoroughbred Mare
GII Winner and GI Winner over 6-8f on Dirt
Offspring: Double Up by Nicostratus owned by *Geronimo24
Double Down by Achak owned by *Geronimo24
Double Trouble by Apollo Gold owned by *Geronimo24
Mating Recommendations: As a small, compact sprinter type mare Doubleornothing would do well with a variety of similarly bred studs to produce a simialrly typed horse. However her pedigree does suggest that distance is a possibility and thus through breeding her to quality, dirt classic winning studs there would be a good chance that the resulting foal would perform at a similar level. Due to Doubleornothing's mellow and non competitive personality we recommend a stud with a hotter and more competitive disposition in order to compensate. Despite Doubleornothing's small size and conformation imperfections she has shown that she is more than capable of producing lovely looking foals with excellent movement when bred to studs who possess such. We highly recommend studs featuring Mr. Prospector, preferable through his sons Gulch, Fappiano and potentially Forty-Niner. Her sole progeny racing, Double Up, is tail male Mr. Prospector through his son Gulch and has just come off a strong second place finish in the GIII Rachel Alexandra Stakes @ 8.5f at the Fair Grounds which highlights the strength of this cross. Another cross to consider would be studs by A.P Indy or A.P. Indy sons. Doubleornothing's yearling filly, Double Trouble, is by Apollo Gold who in turn is by Corinthian a tail male descendent of A.P. Indy. Double Trouble is a small, but good looking individual who seems to possess a measure of talent.

Dol Niwlog
Foundation: El Prado x Magic Lass
11 yo Thoroughbred Mare
6 time GI winner at 8-10f on Dirt
Offspring: Paranormal by Poltergeist owned by *Geronimo24
Cordae* by Cordax owned by *Geronimo24
Taliesin by Achak owned by *Geronimo24
Satyricon*, by Cordax owned by *Geronimo24
Mating Recommendations: Nissy, as she is known around the barn, tends to throw foals much larger than she is, therefore it is recommended that she is breed to smaller, more compact studs with good bone density to compenstate for the height and length of back she adds. However she has produced a good juvenile runner in Paranormal, whose sire Poltergeist stands 17 hh, and therefore studs who are in the 16.2-17.2 height range should not be discounted immediatly if they are good, correct individuals. Cross breeding her with tail mail descendents of Northern Dancer (particularly his son Danzig) has provided us with several nice looking foals, though they have yet to take to the track. We recommend crossing her with Damascus and Princequello descended studs as well.

Caribbean Cool
Foundation: Malibu Moon x Blond Faith
6 yo Thoroughbred Mare
GII winner, placed second in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint
Offspring: Troilus by Apollo Gold owned by *Geronimo24
Montego, by SB The Ghost of You owned by *Geronimo24
Mating Recommendation: A well made and strikingly colored mare Caribbean Cool makes up for the relative weakness of her bottom half with her conformation. As she errs on the smaller side of things we recommend breeding her to studs no larger than 16.1-16.2hh. Because of her pedigree Caribbean Cool could be bred to a variety of studs, she should work fairly well with Mr. Prospector sons, Northern Dancer sons, and Storm Cat sons. The most important thing to consider, we feel, when breeding to Caribbean Cool is her temperament. To this day the true breadth of her talent remains unknown to us because of how difficult and temperamental she was on the track. Therefore we believe that the quality and content of the potential stud's character should be considered above pedigree and conformation. A well minded, calm, but competitive stud would do well to infuse the resulting offspring with some measure of common sense.

Akila
Foundation: Dynaformer x Aldiza
6 yo Thoroughbred Mare
7 time GI winner, 2 time Eclipse winner (American Champion 3 yo Filly and American Horse of the Year @ 3)
Offspring: Linear, by Chronological owned by *Geronimo24
Mating Recommendations: Akila is a long, lean, and relatively tall mare as such we feel that she is a wide open book when it comes to breeding and that a variety of studs should cross well with her. Due to the relative lack of Northern Dancer in her immediate pedigree, we suggest such as a possible cross. However we feel that her best cross would be a stud that features a healthy amount of Ribot in his immediate pedigree. Mr. Prospector sons could prove to be a useful outcross as well. Personality wise we feel that breeding Akila to a calm and well minded stud would help, but we do not believe such is unnecessary as her volatile personality did not seem to hinder her racing career in any way what so ever.

** Due to Akila's worth and talent Triple Birch will be incredibly selective about stallion choice. A stud with a more than solid race record and a good progeny record is preferred. Please note me if you are struggling to find such a stallion.
Weekend Abroad
Foundation: Giant's Causeway x Weekend in Seattle
6 yo Thoroughbred Mare
5 time GI Winner
Offspring: None
Mating Recommendations: As a maiden mare Weekend Abroad's best niche's are harder to predict. However her talent and solid conformation make her a good option for any stallion. We feel that a good way to go about selecting a stallion would be to play into the strength of Weekend Abroad's female line, therefore stallions featuring healthy doses of Buckpasser, Secretariat, and Blushing Groom. Personality wise Weekend Abroad would do well to cross with an even tempered stud so as to combat her highly opinionated and easily offended nature. Being a rather stocky, masculine mare, breeding her to a more delicate stud would do well to increase the physical attractiveness of her offspring.

Concerning Sales Horses: Note this is NOT an auction, therefore these horses will be sold on a first come first basis. However a certain level of effort must be present in the purchase piece. The price of each horse is a whole body portrait of said sale horse, it must be colored. Shading is preferable, but not necessary. A story is not necessary either, although such are welcome.
Sales Horses
Unnamed Cape Blanco x Krisada Colt
Yearling
Nicks at A++
Reason For Sale: A left over from my summer Yearling Auction
SOLD HORSES
Double Down
Two Year Old
Achak x Double or Nothing
Talent Roll: 58
Double Down is a fast, precocious two year old who ought to do well at distances of a mile or less, but could possible stretch out a bit farther if she can get a better handle on her speed. Is half sister to a GII winning filly, Double Up, who is posed to compete in the Kentucky Oaks come the first Friday in May. Double Down is for sale largely because we have two half sisters whose bloodlines are more suitable for our program when considering how many colts we have by Achak, her own sire.
Delphi
Yearling
Apollo Gold x Saba
Talent Roll: 63
Delphi is a gregarious young colt who looks to be a good racing prospect. Is half-sibling to Champion 2 Year Old Filly and current Kentucky Derby contender Marzanna, as well as half-brother to two year old Aponivi, who is unraced but is looking to be considerably talented as well. As such Delphi is tentatively listed for sale, but is not on a first come first basis as I will need to be convinced to sell.

Still Alive a Year Later
Hi y'all, still living, still extremely busy, but I think about my HARPG ponies and the HARPG community frequently even if I suck and nearly never find the time to post. No promises on story updates, but I'm putting out a journal entry so all my links are right on my home page for you and for me so I can track my extremely large and totally not overwhelming HARPG stable XD
Wow
Hi y'all, its been a time, a long time. Life has continued its crazy way as its prone to do when you're in your mid-twenties. Little life update for everyone: currently I am the proud owner of an incredibly sassy soon to be 8 off the track Thoroughbred mare which has taken up the vast majority of my free time which I used to spend with my HARPG ponies. Currently she's laid up with a soft tissue stifle injury, but is on the mend so I've got a bit more free time - enough to think about how much I miss drawing and writing about my HARPG thoroughbreds. I've got a lot of the rest of this season written in bits and pieces, so its going to become a
NOT DEAD
I really can no longer guarantee when I'm going to be able to get back to writing HARPG with any sort of regularity. I have not forgotten about my little HARPG world or any of you lovely people I've come to befriend and admire on this website through this community, but life is happening as it does. A lot has happened over this summer into the fall; a new business venture with my mom, a new serious relationship, new opportunities with the horse I've been leasing and its not an exaggeration to say I haven't written in four months. I'm not leaving HARPG, none of my horses are for sale, and I still have wild dreams of continuing my little story
LOL @LIFE
Remember how I just posted life was busy etc etc etc? GUESS WHOSE HOUSE GOT HIT BY LIGHTNING AND CAUGHT FIRE?
Yeah, it me. Everyone was okay and our 4 dogs are okay as the fire was mostly contained, but water damage etc is extensive and we're going to be out of the house for about six months while they gut it and put up new drywall, new floors, etc. SO. Silver lining we are moving into the beautiful house on the farm where the horse I leased lives so it can't be all bad right???
